VHSL FOOTBALL REGION STANDINGS (UPDATED 3/30/21: ONE WEEK TO GO)

Week 5 separated groups in the race for the playoffs. Teams clinched, other teams drew closer, as other teams saw their hopes for extra football go by the wayside.

Below are the latest region standings as released by the Virginia High School League (VHSL) office on Monday. You'll also read our exclusive analysis on what is left to be done for teams to make the postseason, and, for those who have punched their ticket, what they may expect for the region semifinal round.

Teams who have clinched playoff bids are listed in bold.

CLASS 6, REGION A:

1) Oscar Smith: 30.0
2) Thomas Dale: 29.5
3) Franklin County: 26.2
4) Ocean Lakes: 23.0
---
5) Grassfield: 22.0
6) Western Branch: 21.2
7) James River: 21.0

ANALYSIS: The Tigers, a perennial power in Class 6, finish with 3-2 Indian River, while the Knights host Dinwiddie, who, at 4-1, must win to have any playoff aspirations in Class 4, Region B. Should both teams win, they'll be tied for first. It will come down to bonus points earned by teams on their schedules. Remember, you earn two points for each win by a team you've defeated.

Franklin County is the only team in the top four projected to play all six of their scheduled games. They'll open the Region 6A playoffs with a trip to the eventual #2 seed. Ocean Lakes' season is done. A Great Bridge win over Grassfield and a Deep Creek victory over Western Branch likely clinches the #4 seed for the Dolphins. James River must upset 5-0 Monacan and get wins from Great Bridge and Deep Creek to have a hope for a miracle move from seventh to fourth right at the wire.

CLASS 5, REGION B:

1) Hermitage: 28.0
2) Manchester: 27.0
3) Highland Springs: 26.4
4) Prince George: 25.2
---
5) Midlothian: 24.4
6) Varina: 24.2
7) Glen Allen: 22.4
8) Deep Run: 20.4

ANALYSIS: NOTE: THESE NUMBERS WILL CHANGE AFTER HENRICO/GODWIN GAME MONDAY NIGHT.

There's a lot to unpack here. The good news here is everyone is playing their sixth game. It makes it much easier to add and divide once all the numbers are in come Friday night.

First, Hermitage. The Panthers have winless J.R. Tucker in the Cat Bowl Friday. With a win, they'll have 164 points. Remember, all point totals here would be divided by six to get the rating you see above. Hermitage will get two points each for the winners of Glen Allen/Henrico and Deep Run/Mills Godwin. That's 168. If Varina beats Highland Springs, they finish with 170.

Manchester finishes Thursday night at winless Cosby. With a win, they'll be at 161 points. The Lancers will earn one point if Monacan beats James River, two if the Rapids pull off the upset. They'll get two points from the winner of Midlothian/Powhatan, two more should Clover Hill defeat L.C. Bird. Their maximum possible total is 167.

Speaking of the Springers, they begin at 132 points. Defeating Varina puts them at 164. They'll earn two points each from the winners of Mills Godwin/Deep Run and Henrico/Glen Allen. That would be 168. If J.R. Tucker stuns Hermitage, make it 170, and, yes, the Springers would draw the top seed. Now, if they lose to the Blue Devils, they would be at 149 points, a guaranteed 153 points, a maximum of 155.

Let's talk Prince George. They, too, have a winless opponent this week: Meadowbrook. Thus, only 24 points for a win, putting the Royals at 150. They'll earn two points from the winner of Colonial Heights/Petersburg, two for a Dinwiddie win, one for a Thomas Dale win, and two points if Matoaca defeats Hopewell. Their maximum is 156, but could finish with as few as 153.

Don't forget about Midlothian. The Trojans travel to a very good 3-2 Powhatan team who saw their playoff hopes in Class 4, Region B go by the boards last Friday, falling to Monacan. Any team coached by Mike Henderson will be ready to play. With a win, the Trojans move to 152 points. Midlothian earns one point if Manchester beats Cosby, two if the Titans pull off the upset. They'd also earn two points for victories by Clover Hill (L.C. Bird), Meadowbrook (Prince George), and James River (Monacan). A realistic final total might be 155. Their maximum is 160. Can Midlothian overtake Prince George if both teams win? They could, but they'll need Thomas Dale and Hopewell to both win.

For Varina, it's pretty cut and dry. By defeating Highland Springs, they'll vault up to 155 points. The Blue Devils get one point if Hermitage wins, two if Tucker pulls the upset, two if Henrico beats Glen Allen, two should Deep Run defeat Mills Godwin. Douglas Freeman's season is already over. Their maximum is 161, but 157 or 159 is more likely. If Varina loses, they're out.

CLASS 4, REGION B

1) Monacan: 27.6
2) Patrick Henry: 26.8
3) King George: 26.0
4) Louisa: 25.6
---
5) Dinwiddie: 22.8

ANALYSIS: With Patrick Henry's win over Hanover, Spotsylvania's win over Eastern View and Monacan's win over Powhatan, last week saw an eight-team race get trimmed down to five.

Should all four top seeds, who all enter this week 5-0, win, they'll clinch bids, and Dinwiddie's season, win or lose Thursday against Thomas Dale, will conclude.

Monacan plays James River, 2-3 in Class 6. A win earns them 30 points to move the Chiefs to 168. They'll get two points for the Manchester/Cosby winner, two for the Clover Hill/L.C. Bird winner, and two more should Powhatan defeat Midlothian. Monacan's maximum is 174 points.

Patrick Henry faces winless Mechanicsville in Tomato Bowl 62. A win puts them at 156 points. They are guaranteed four points for the winner of Atlee/Hanover, teams that the Patriots have defeated twice. Patrick Henry's maximum is 160.

King George gets Spotsylvania (3-2) in what should be a good game. A win puts the Foxes at 158 points. They'll earn two points for the Chancellor/Eastern View winner and from the Caroline/James Monroe winner. That would be 162 points, enough to grab the second seed from Patrick Henry.

Louisa takes on Albemarle, 3-2 in Class 5. A victory places the Lions at 158 points. They'll earn two points from both the Orange/Western Albemarle winner and the Monticello/Fluvanna winner. Charlottesville's season is complete. Louisa's maximum, therefore, is 162.

As you see, this puts Patrick Henry at a disadvantage due to facing an 0-5 team. They could win, and drop to fourth, which would mean a trip to Monacan in the region semifinals should the Chiefs win their finale.

Now, Dinwiddie. A win over Thomas Dale would put the Generals at 148 points. They would earn two points each from the winners of Hopewell/Matoaca and Petersburg/Colonial Heights, and two more if Prince George knocks off Meadowbrook. Their maximum is 154 points, not enough to move out of fifth place should the four unbeatens stay that way.

CLASS 3, REGION A:

1) Lafayette: 27.0
2) Phoebus: 24.667
3) Tabb: 20.0
4) New Kent: 19.6
---
5) Hopewell: 19.333
6) Petersburg: 18.0

ANALYSIS: The top two seeds are in and should host in region semifinal play. The intrigue is in the next three seeds. Tabb visits New Kent on Saturday afternoon. The winner is in. The loser will find themselves out should Hopewell defeat Matoaca.

Tabb goes to 106 points with a win over New Kent, earns two points if York beats Lafayette, one point should the Rams win, then two points if Grafton defeats Warhill and if Poquoson wins over King William. Their maximum is 112, but divided by five.

New Kent goes to 118 points with a win. The Trojans get one point with a Lafayette win, one if Warhill beats Grafton and two should Grafton win. Two more points come if Jamestown beats Smithfield and if Poquoson knocks off King William. Their maximum is 125 points, divided by six.

As for Hopewell, a win over Matoaca gets them to 84 points. They'll get two points if Meadowbrook or Colonial Heights win, one point should Dinwiddie beat Thomas Dale. Their maximum is 89 points, divided by four. Simply put, a win extends the season.

CLASS 3, REGION B:

1) Goochland: 26.0
2) Independence: 22.25
3T) Brentsville District: 21.6
      Skyline: 21.6
---
5) George Mason: 21.2
6) Lightridge: 20.6

ANALYSIS: The Bulldogs are in, but do need a victory in their finale to ensure the top seed. Skyline's win over Brentsville last week vaults them into a tie for third.

CLASS 2, REGION A:

1) King William: 20.5
2) Nottoway: 20.0
3) Poquoson: 15.5
4) Amelia: 15.4
---
5) Randolph-Henry: 13.5

ANALYSIS: The top four teams square off against each other to close the regular season as King William goes to Poquoson, while Amelia goes to Nottoway. With the top two teams already punching their ticket to the postseason, it's Poquoson and Amelia who needs wins to join them. Waiting in the wings, should either or both lose, is Randolph-Henry, who need a win over Central-Lunenburg to be in the conversation come Friday night.

CLASS 1, REGION A:

1) King & Queen Central: 18.0
2) West Point: 14.2
3T) Rappahannock: 10.667
      Northampton: 10.667

ANALYSIS: This region is pretty much set, as the top four seeds have concluded their regular season.

VHSL FOOTBALL REGION STANDINGS

The homestretch is here! With just two weeks left in the regular season, we've reached the first stage of separation in each region. There are shakeups in some, stability in others, and we'll have a clearer view of what the playoff situation may look like after a Week 5 featuring multiple "showdown" games that could end team's postseason aspirations.

The standings and our exclusive analysis is below!

**********

CLASS 6, REGION A

1) Oscar Smith: 29.333
2) Thomas Dale: 28.667
3) Franklin County: 27.0
4) Ocean Lakes: 24.250
---
5) Grassfield: 22.250
6) Western Branch: 22.0
7) James River: 21.0
8) Landstown: 19.0

ANALYSIS: Franklin County gets the 9-6 win over Northside on a rainy Tuesday night in Roanoke. No bonus points available with the victory, so it's not enough to overtake Thomas Dale for the #2 seed. The race for the top two seeds is critical, as to avoid a long, long bus ride in the first round. If standings held as they were, Franklin County would have to travel from Rocky Mount to Chester. The Knights would rather avoid that journey. Of note, Ocean Lakes' season is scheduled to end Friday against Green Run of Class 5. The Dolphins only have five games on their schedule. Grassfield must upset Oscar Smith Friday for any true hope of the postseason, while Western Branch needs to sweep Indian River and Deep Creek, and get help. Thomas Dale finishes with Matoaca and a showdown with Dinwiddie, where the Generals may have to win to make the Region 4B playoffs. If Thomas Dale goes 1-1 down the stretch, their playoff chances are still pretty good.

CLASS 5, REGION B:

1) Hermitage: 27.0
2T) Manchester: 26.5
      Highland Springs: 26.5
4) Prince George: 24.250
---
5) Varina: 23.0
6) Midlothian: 22.750
7) Glen Allen: 21.6
8) Deep Run: 20.750

ANALYSIS: Well, the shakeup is well underway! We knew the Hermitage lead atop the region standings would shrink due to beating a winless team Friday. Manchester's win over previously unbeaten, and three-win, Midlothian, vaults the Lancers into a tie with Highland Springs, who finally enter the top four, while Prince George holds on to a playoff spot, for now, following their first loss. Varina continues to draw closer, and Midlothian is still alive. Glen Allen, at 3-2, with only a game with 0-4 Henrico left, is out. Deep Run, who goes to Hermitage Friday, could certainly wreak havoc on the standings with a win, but winless Mills Godwin awaits them to close their schedule, and that doesn't help. As we've felt for most of the season, a two-loss team won't make the top four here. Varina hosts Douglas Freeman, while Midlothian gets a resurgent James River, who beat L.C. Bird Monday for their first win over the Skyhawks since the Bush 43 Administration. The Royals go to Petersburg Saturday. The Crimson Wave are still alive in Region 3A.

All four current top teams have a team currently winless still remaining on their schedule. What does that mean? No bonus points with a victory over them. Remember, teams get two bonus points for each win earned by a defeated opponent, one bonus point from wins from non-defeated opponents.

CLASS 4, REGION B:

1T) King George: 26.5
      Monacan: 26.5
3) Patrick Henry: 25.5
4) Louisa: 24.5
---
5) Powhatan: 22.750
6) Dinwiddie: 22.250
7) Eastern View: 21.5
8) Hanover: 21.0

ANALYSIS: This is the craziest, yet cleanest, race in our area. First, the surprise team: King George. The Foxes play 0-4 Caroline this week, 2-2 Spotsylvania to close the regular season. Meanwhile, Monacan, tied with King George for first place each of the past two weeks, have the harder schedule, but can reap the benefits and possibly clinch the top seed with wins over Powhatan (3-1) and James River (Class 6 school, 2-2). However, that's where the "cleanest" part of our analysis comes in. Friday night could be elimination night, when we look back, for the loser of both the Monacan/Powhatan game and the second battle between unbeaten Patrick Henry and one loss Hanover. The Patriots survived a "Stanford/Cal" type play that finally ended at the Patriot 30 yard line to end a 22-14 win at Hanover three weeks ago. Expect the Patriots/Hawks affair to be a slugfest. Louisa plays Western Albemarle (3-1) and Albemarle (Class 5 school, 2-2) to finish up.

Then there's Dinwiddie, who put the entire region on notice with a rather dominant win over Hopewell Monday, ending the Blue Devils' 16-game winning streak. The bad news for the Generals is a game Friday at winless Colonial Heights. No bonus points available. But their finale next Thursday at Thomas Dale, with some help, could be a play-in game for Dinwiddie. But Powhatan has a tough, but more favorable schedule, than Dinwiddie, with 4-0 Monacan and Midlothian (Class 5 school, 3-1) still to come. If Powhatan sweeps, they could beat out Dinwiddie for a postseason berth.

The biggest question for Powhatan, Dinwiddie, Eastern View and Hanover is can a one-loss team make the playoffs if all four unbeatens finish 6-0? That scenario automatically eliminates Powhatan and Hanover, and a win over Class 6 Thomas Dale likely wouldn't be enough for Dinwiddie.

CLASS 3, REGION A:

1) Lafayette: 25.333
2) Phoebus: 23.333
3) New Kent: 20.250
4) Tabb: 18.333
---
5) Petersburg: 18.0
6T) York: 16.5
      Hopewell: 16.5
8) I.C. Norcom: 15.750

ANALYSIS: Hopewell fans, do not panic. The Blue Devils are still in the race, with a trip to Class 5, winless, Meadowbrook Friday. Ahead of them, York, with whom they are tied for sixth, goes to #4 Tabb Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, Petersburg hosts Prince George (Class 5 school, 3-1) Saturday. Should both York and Petersburg lose, Hopewell is in fifth minimum. #1 Lafayette hosts #3 New Kent Friday, so one of them will take a loss, allowing Hopewell, with a win, to draw closer. For the Trojans, what an opportunity! A win at Lafayette, then a win hosting Tabb Saturday April 3rd, could clinch a home game in the first round of the playoffs, should Phoebus win their last two games and take the top seed. There's a lot going on here.

CLASS 3, REGION B

1) Goochland: 25.0
2) Brentsville District: 23.0
3) Independence: 21.5
4) George Mason: 20.0
---
5) Skyline: 19.750
6) Lightridge: 18.750
7) James Monroe: 16.750

ANALYSIS: This region is Goochland's to lose. The Bulldogs go to Central-Lunenburg, who defeated Amelia 34-16 on Monday, then are scheduled to host Class 4 James Wood April 2nd. However, James Wood has yet to play this season. The big game in this region this week is Friday's showdown between #2 Brentsville District (4-0) and #5 Skyline (3-1). Independence can help their case with a win against Class 4 Loudoun County (2-2) this week.

CLASS 2, REGION A:

1) Nottoway: 22.0
2) King William: 19.333
3) Randolph-Henry: 18.0
4) Amelia County: 14.0
---
5) Poquoson: 13.0
6) Bruton: 10.0
7) Windsor: 8.5

ANALYSIS: Nottoway has only played one game, a win over Central-Lunenburg. They are scheduled to go to Cumberland (0-3) on Friday. King William (3-0), meanwhile, are heading to Class 3 Southampton this week, then finish with Poquoson, who currently sit in fifth and who play winless Class 4 Grafton this week. So, a top seed is certainly in play for the Cavaliers, but a #2 seed may not be such a bad thing.

The showdown here this week comes Saturday when #4 Amelia County tries to shake off their Monday loss when they travel to #3 Randolph-Henry.

CLASS 1, REGION A:

1) King & Queen Central: 18.0
2) West Point: 12.75
3) Northampton: 12.0
4) Rappahannock: 10.0
---
5) Mathews: 8.5

VHSL FOOTBALL REGION STANDINGS

With only three weeks left in the regular season, the push for the postseason is heating up quicker than usual, thanks to the truncated six-game schedule and the fact that four, and not eight, teams will make the playoffs.

Here's a look at the latest standings and analysis on what's ahead for your favorite team!

**********************

CLASS 6, REGION A:

1) Oscar Smith: 28.0
2) Franklin County: 26.667
3) Thomas Dale: 26.0
4) Ocean Lakes: 23.333
---
5) Western Branch: 21.25
6) Grassfield: 20.333
7T) Landstown: 19.0
      James River: 19.0

ANALYSIS: Oscar Smith and Franklin County each remain unbeaten, as did Thomas Dale. The Ocean Lakes loss to Princess Anne Friday night gives the Knights breathing room between the #3 and #4 positions. The Knights could pick up some big points Friday with a win over Prince George.

---

CLASS 5, REGION B:

1) Hermitage: 27.333
2T) Midlothian: 25.333
      Highland Springs: 25.333
      Prince George: 25.333
---
5) Manchester: 23.667
6) Varina: 22.75
7) Deep Run: 22.333
8) Glen Allen: 20.5
9T) Douglas Freeman: 19.0
      Clover Hill: 19.0
11) Atlee: 17.667

ANALYSIS: As expected, Hermitage remains atop the region, but here comes Highland Springs, thanks to the win over Glen Allen. They catch both Midlothian and Prince George, who both played winless teams and won. Manchester can draw closer with a win over Midlothian. This game could end up being a must-win for either team's playoff hopes. Varina's bye comes at a bad time. Deep Run gets right back into the thick of things, if they can knock off the Springers Friday. Hermitage loses ground this coming week, even with a win over winless Henrico, unless Midlothian, Highland Springs and Prince George all lose.

CLASS 4, REGION B:

1T) Monacan: 26.0
     King George: 26.0
3) Patrick Henry: 24.667
4) Louisa: 24.0
---
5) Powhatan: 21.333
6) Chancellor: 21.25
7) Eastern View: 20.75
8T) Dinwiddie: 20.333
      Hanover: 20.333

ANALYSIS: The King George win over Eastern View gives us the delineation: four unbeaten teams, then everyone else. Monacan joins the Foxes atop the region, while Patrick Henry and Louisa trail due to strength of schedule, or rather, lack thereof. This week, King George hosts Courtland, Monacan hosts hard luck Clover Hill, while Patrick Henry hosts Atlee and Louisa is at Fluvanna. The Chiefs and Patriots play Class 5 schools, so two bonus points are in play for both of them. Powhatan's triple-overtime thriller over Clover Hill keeps them alive along with Chancellor, the Cyclones, and we don't want to forget both Dinwiddie and Hanover, who likely need to run the table, and get some help (like Hanover defeating the Patriots a week from Friday).

CLASS 3, REGION A:

1) Lafayette: 24.0
2) Phoebus: 23.0
3) Hopewell: 20.0
4) New Kent: 18.0
---
5T) Tabb: 16.5
      York: 16.5
7) I.C. Norcom: 16.0
8) Southampton: 14.5
9) Petersburg: 14.0

ANALYSIS: Hopewell, hopefully, returns to action going to Dinwiddie. A win their helps solidify their standing in the top four. New Kent's win over Poquoson Saturday was big. Petersburg isn't out yet, but needs to win out to have hope for the top four.

CLASS 3, REGION B:

1) Goochland: 25.333
2) Brentsville District: 22.0
3) Independence: 19.667
4) George Mason: 18.667
---
5) Lightridge: 18.5
6) Skyline: 18.0

ANALYSIS: Goochland is comfortably in front here, but the Bulldogs won't slow down their intensity. Win out, and they're the top seed. It's in their hands.

CLASS 2, REGION A:

1) Nottoway: 20.0
2) King William: 18.667
3) Poquoson: 18.0
4) Amelia County: 15.667
---
5) Bruton: 9.5
6) Windsor: 8.5

ANALYSIS: Nottoway finally gets to play, and takes over the top spot, for now, from 3-0 King William, who get the top seed in 1A, 3-0 King and Queen Central on Friday.

CLASS 1, REGION A:

1) King & Queen Central: 17.5
2T) Rappahannock: 12.0
      Northampton: 12.0
4) West Point: 11.0
---
5) Mathews: 8.5
6T) Lancaster: 5.0
      Northumberland: 5.0

VHSL FOOTBALL REGION STANDINGS

Four weekends of high school football regular season remaining, and the race is on for the coveted four playoff berths in each region. Here are the latest standings as released Monday by the Virginia High School League.

CLASS 6, REGION A:

1T) Oscar Smith: 27.0
      Franklin County: 27.0
      Ocean Lakes: 27.0
4)  Thomas Dale: 26.0
5T) Landstown: 21.0
      Grassfield: 21.0
7) James River: 20.5

ANALYSIS: Three of the five teams tied for first last week were victorious Friday, and they remain in a tie, while Thomas Dale, who was idle due to the cancellation of their Saturday game with Hopewell, drops to fourth. James River stays in the race thanks to their win over Cosby, whose hopes in this truncated season took an early hit with the loss to drop to 0-2.

CLASS 5, REGION B:

1) Hermitage: 28.0
2) Midlothian: 26.0
3T) Deep Run: 25.0
      Prince George: 25.0
5) Highland Springs: 24.0
6) Glen Allen: 21.333
7) Clover Hill: 21.0
8) Varina: 20.667
9) Manchester: 20.0
10) Atlee: 19.0

ANALYSIS: We know, we know. Why is Highland Springs fifth in the standings when the polls that are being published this shortened season have them as the top team in the area? Simple. Strength of schedule. Hermitage, with victories over a pair of two-win teams in Varina and Glen Allen, have the advantage, for now, over everyone. Midlothian's two wins are over teams with one combined win, the same for Deep Run and Prince George. But the Trojans have a win over a Class 6 team (Cosby) for two extra critical points.

As for the Springers? Two big shutout wins against two (so far) winless opponents. This Friday's trip to Glen Allen is big for both teams. If the Jaguars pull off the upset, they're right back in the thick of things with regards to the top four. With the Trojans (Meadowbrook) and Royals (Colonial Heights) playing teams without a victory so far, a Highland Springs win Friday likely puts them squarely in the top four, and with Hermitage playing winless Mills Godwin, they can draw closer to the Panthers.

The big game this week to affect these standings, other than Springers/Jaguars, is Deep Run/Varina. The Blue Devils need this one, and a win over Douglas Freeman in two weeks, to be in the middle of the conversation come Rivalry Night with Highland Springs on April 2.

CLASS 4, REGION B

1T) Monacan: 25.0
      Patrick Henry: 25.0
3) King George: 24.0
4T) Louisa: 23.333
      Eastern View: 23.333
6) Courtland: 19.0
7) Chancellor: 18.667
8) Powhatan: 18.5
9) Dinwiddie: 18.0
10) Orange County: 17.5
11) Hanover: 17.0

ANALYSIS: Advantage unbeatens. Monacan grabs two wins against two Class 5 schools, but with only one win between them (Manchester over Powhatan), it allows Patrick Henry to tie them even though one of their opponents (Hanover) is Class 4. Remember, you earn 24 points for defeating a Class 5 team, 22 points for a Class 4. King George's overtime win at James Monroe was huge for their playoff hopes, as, right behind them, are a pair of 3-0 teams in Louisa and Eastern View. The Lions, normally used to being near or at the top of the standings, suffers from a weaker strength of schedule at this point. Will you need to go 5-1 to make the playoffs here? It's possible, which means teams like Powhatan and Dinwiddie have to run the table, and maybe get some help, since there are five unbeatens occupying the top five slots as of today.

CLASS 3, REGION A:

1T) Lafayette: 22.0
      Phoebus: 22.0
3) Hopewell: 20.0
4T) I.C. Norcom: 17.0
      New Kent: 17.0
6) York: 16.5
7) Tabb: 16.0

ANALYSIS: New Kent came THISCLOSE to a win Friday night, but certainly are right in the midst of this playoff race that may end up with just the seven teams listed as serious contenders. Petersburg's slow start has hurt them, but their early schedule was among the toughest in the area. As for Hopewell? We hope there's a way for them to make up the Thomas Dale game. If not, the question going forward, should they go 5-0 or 4-1 rather than play the full six-game complement is if that would hurt their seeding come playoff time.

CLASS 3, REGION B:

1) Goochland: 24.0
2) Brentsville District: 22.0
3) Lightridge: 20.333
4) George Mason: 17.667
5) Independence: 17.0
6) Skyline: 16.0
7) Central-Woodstock: 15.5

ANALYSIS: The area's only active team in this region takes a comfortable lead thanks to defeating Class 5 Albemarle Friday. Three of their last four opponents are Class 4.

CLASS 2, REGION A:

1) King William: 18.0
2) Amelia County: 14.0
3) Bruton: 12.0
4) Windsor: 7.0
(Rest of region teams have not played yet)

CLASS 1, REGION A:

1) King & Queen Central: 17.0
2) Rappahannock: 16.0
3) West Point: 11.0
4) Mathews: 8.0
5) Northampton: 6.0
