A 14-14 tie quickly turned into a rout as the North scored the final 45 points of the 4th Annual Big River Rivalry to take a 59-14 win over the South Saturday at Day Field on the campus of Randolph-Macon College.
Highland Springs quarterback Juwan Carter (pictured below, #14) threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns, while St. Christopher's quarterback John Damgard added 105 yards and a touchdown on the final play of the first half to Kahli Andrews of Thomas Jefferson.
Queshon Baker of Atlee completed a 42 yard pass on an option play (see below, #10) and stripped a South interception to retain possession for the North deep in South territory. Douglas Freeman's Tanner Dobrucky caught three passes for 83 yards and two touchdowns.
The South was led by Frank Boyd of Manchester, who rushed for 84 yards and had an opening kickoff return of 36 yards. The North now leads the series 3-1.
