Happy Monday everyone!
For Eagles fans, it's a great day. For my family, it's been a whirlwind week. I suffered a bout of gastroenteritis, recovered in time to hear of the untimely passing of a dear member of our family, only to turn less than 36 hours later and experience the once-in-a-lifetime euphoria of becoming a grandfather for the very first time.
So, through doctor visits and sad messages, lack of sleep and countless smiles looking down on my grandson, our coverage schedule took a big hit. Thus, in order to take care of all of our top commitments which keep our network up and running, we have to make the following changes:
1) Our Game of The Week doubleheader broadcast scheduled tonight between L.C. Bird and Highland Springs has been canceled. We must be at another game tonight in order to complete our work for this week's edition of The Herald Progress. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience, as we have looked forward to those games for weeks.
2) As of now, our two other broadcasts this week are still on. Thursday's Meadowbrook at Mills Godwin boys basketball game, with big Region 5B playoff implications, is a go. Friday's doubleheader, Hanover and Atlee, looks safe for now.
3) We still plan to get to as many schools as we can on Wednesday, National Signing Day. We're still looking for information concerning NSD events, so, if your school is having one, let us know by DM'ing us on Twitter!
These are the joys, and realities, of being an independently-run organization. We aren't a corporate entity. Family comes first. We thank you for your understanding and your patience.
And, we look forward to a basketball postseason to remember!
Sincerely,
Rob Witham
