RVA SPORTS NETWORK SUPER 12 HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL POLL----WEEK ONE

Let the season begin! Here's a look at our debut edition of the RVA Sports Network Super 12 High School Football Poll as the 2024 season begins! And we'll list a question for each team as the journey to November, and December, gets underway!

**********

1) Highland Springs: Two questions for the reigning area juggernaut. Will their be another seamless transition at quarterback, and how will this team look after opening the season with three huge opponents in Manchester, Phoebus and Maury?

2) Dinwiddie: How much help will USC commit Harry Dalton have in the skill game, and is it enough for the gauntlet that is Region 4B?

3) Trinity Episcopal: On paper, the most talented team in VISAA. Can they avoid the injury bug and get back to the mountaintop?

4) Varina: Can the Blue Devils return to the team that ran the table in 2021? (Hint: They're not far away...)

5) Benedictine: How quickly can the new blood step into key positions to put the Cadets, again, in VISAA championship position?

6) Matoaca: Who replaces Riley Justus at quarterback? With all the talent on both sides of the ball, they don't need a savior, just consistent production. This team can be scary good, and can surpass last year's historic run.

7) Manchester: Their quarterback is back. The question here is how the program responds to taking the field for the first time in this century without Tom Hall?

8) Thomas Dale: Just like #3 Trinity Episcopal, can the Knights stay away from the injuries that seem to plague this program yearly?

9) Huguenot: New, young, but highly talented quarterback. Can they position themselves to play spoilers come November in Region 4B?

10) Powhatan: Can they take advantage of an even Dominion District and grab enough wins to, first, make the 4B playoffs, and, second, grab home-field advantage in the first round?

11) L.C. Bird: New coach, new quarterback. What will the Battle of Chester in Week 2 on September 6th show us about the new look Skyhawks?

12) Glen Allen: A veteran QB/RB combo returns. Can four straight home games to begin the season prepare them for the West End battles to follow?
