In Class 6 and Class 5, regions are set as they normally are. You can see them, and a deeper explanation of all the changes now in effect by clicking here for our detailed report from July.
In Class 4, there are changes in how field hockey "regions" are divided. In addition, all participating field hockey schools in Classes 1 through 3 are grouped together for one combined tournament crowning one champion. Thus, there will be four state champions crowned on Saturday, November 11th at the National Training Center in Virginia Beach.
As soon as we receive region tournament scheduling and format information, we will pass it along to you, in our continuing efforts to help the Virginia High School League (VHSL) do a better job relaying postseason information. We want to help generate as much excitement, and attendance, as possible for these events to reward the student-athletes and coaches who have worked hard throughout the season.
