CHAMPIONS: Varina, Cosby Take Home Trophies

Class 5 State Boys Basketball Final: Varina 64, Wakefield 60: Blue Devils erase an eight-point halftime deficit to win the school's first-ever state championship, finishing the season with a 22-game winning streak. Tyrese Jenkins scores 21 points while Anthony Williams adds 17.

Class 6 State Girls Basketball Championship Final: Cosby 52, Langley 50 (OT): The Titans, a year removed from three straight state titles, forced the Saxons into nine turnovers in the fourth period and overtime, as Cosby fought back from a 50-46 overtime deficit to score the game's last six points, the last of which came from a Nia Covington assist to Marissa Gallagher with 3.2 seconds left (video below). Covington led the Titans with 25 points.
