RVA LOCALS ONLY: New Hermitage Football Head Coach David Bedwell

For longtime high school football fans, reading that headline will take some getting used to. After a nearly two-decade run of dominance in Chester, leading L.C. Bird to three consecutive state championships from 2012 to 2014, head coach David Bedwell stepped down before the 2017 season to move up to Director of Student Activities for the Skyhawks.

Earlier this week, Bedwell agreed to return to the sidelines, this time at Hermitage, a program he is very familiar with, as the Skyhawks and Panthers collided in the playoffs in 2004, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.

We'll talk live with Coach Bedwell about, first the process of ending an historic era at L.C. Bird, and then, how to return Hermitage to its usual position of prominence in high school football.

Listen LIVE Friday, 9:30am as Bob Black, Andrew Wallace, and Rob Witham talk with Bedwell live only on ESPN Richmond!
